This project involved repainting four bedrooms in a home that remained occupied throughout the work. Careful planning, good ventilation, and the use of low-VOC products helped to minimise paint odours during application and drying. Additionally, we supplied an air purifier for the duration of the job at no additional cost to help with air purity. Our team kept the site well organised, ensuring we tidied up each day, while taking extra care with wardrobe areas, belongings, and furniture to ensure everything was properly protected from dust, fumes, and contaminants. The bedrooms were transformed from a darker, dated colour scheme into fresh, modern spaces with a lighter and more welcoming feel. The new finishes created a clean, contemporary look that completely revitalised the look of the home. The transformation left the owners feeling as though they were sleeping in brand-new bedrooms!

This striking feature wall in our client’s bedroom in Ohoka was completing whilst the family was still living in the house, so we took extra care to clean up each day and ventilate the space, using low-odor acrylic paints to minimise disruption. The project required precise attention to detail, especially to the joins and cut-ins, ensuring sharp, clean lines that perfectly complemented the modern design. To achieve a flawless, blemish-free finish, we used professional-grade additives, creating a seamless effect that made the feature wall feel like a natural part of the home’s architecture. The result was a beautiful focal point that truly elevated the space.

This project called for a simple outcome - clean, modern, and restrained - so as not to detract from the complex architectural nature of the home. Completed prior to the client moving in, the property had already undergone extensive renovations. This created a unique mix of old and new elements, including existing varnished louvres and trim, alongside newly constructed spaces with 4.2-metre raked and angled ceilings spanning much of the home. Lighting played a significant role in this project, with natural light spanning and reflecting across walls, ceilings, and timber features from multiple angles. This made preparation especially important, as even minor imperfections would be highlighted under these conditions. To complement the architecture, we utilised a cohesive colour palette with subtle variations in sheen and finish. This approach allowed us to enhance the depth and detail of the space without overshadowing the already impressive design and craftsmanship.
The project was completed on time, with the client extremely impressed with the finish and level of detail delivered. It has since been entered into the 2026 Master Painters Awards.

This project involved transforming a Christchurch office space just before our client’s scheduled move-in.
